Howard 100 is the name of the primary station that Howard Stern has been programming on Sirius Satellite Radio since October 2005. The channel officially launched on January 9, 2006 with four shows on the schedule; The Howard Stern Show, Bubba the Love Sponge Show, The Wrap Up Show, and Howard 100 News.

Pre-Launch History

Howard 100 (and 101) officially launched on January 9, 2006, though, the channel had some pre-launch programming. It also went through a series of different names.

Douche 100

Douche 100 (and second channel Douche 101) was the pre-launch name of Howard 100 (and Howard 101). Most of the Douche 100 air time was dead air, but it did feature one twenty four hour special.

Shows on Douche 100:

    * 24 Hour: Fart-athon, 24 hour show with non-stop farters live in the studio

Howard Stern 100

After the Fart-athon the channel briefly changed its name from Douche 100 to Howard Stern 100 (and 101). Like Douche 100, being a pre-launched channel, it did not have much programming. While Stern was on his old terrestrial radio show he and his staff came up with a few twenty four hour specials.

    * 24 Hour: Wendy the Retard, 24 hour show following Wendy the Retard's day.
    * 24 Hour: High Pitch Eric, 24 hour show of High Pitch Eric eating anything he wants, accompanied by his bowel movement being weighed.

When Howard 100 News went on the air it went on with a new channel name. The official channel name was revealed as well as a taste of the real channel.

Shows that aired on the pre-launched Howard 100 (and 101) channel:

    * Howard 100 News, Then a once daily Stern-related newscast
    * The Red Peters Countdown, Red Peters musical comedy countdown
    * Tissue Time with Heidi Cortez, Playboy playmate, Heidi Cortez, reads erotic bed time stories
    * The Crack Whore View, parody version of The View where real crack whores showcase their points of view on a variety of issues
    * Sirius Tech Help, helping new users get their Sirius set-up.
    * Meet the Sterns, call-in show featuring Stern's parents
    * Meet the Shrink, which performs psychoanalysis on Wack Pack members and frequent guests

When Howard Stern announced his move to Sirius he announced three channels. Later on channels 100 and 101 joined the Sirius channels while 102 remained off the dial.

Stern was given programming rights for two channels, Howard 100 and Howard 101. During his satellite radio show, Stern said that soon Howard 100 and Howard 101 will separate and have original programming on each channels, but both the Howard Stern Show and the Bubba the Love Sponge repeats will stay. Robin Quivers suggested that a third channel may be needed, in the future, to allow for show repeats and original programming. This would be channel 102.

Currently 102 is not in use.
